Weekly Digest – October 1-7, 2012

Posted on November 14, 2012 by Chris

Taxation:

  • When you hear someone championing tax ‘reform’ hold onto your wallet
  • As Leona Helmsley once said, “Only little people pay taxes.” Mitt is apparently not a little person

Matters of law:

  • One good  (see also this)
  • One bad
  • One ugly
  • Make that two ugly

Vote suppression and voter disenfrancisement:

  • Not that I expect this to dissuade them but it’s a step in the right direction
  • Irony

Miscellaneous:

  • Social Security
  • Climate Change

Economy (trying to end on a positive note):

  • Payroll numbers are looking a little better over the long term
  • Employment-to-population ratio is arguably improving as well
